If you’ve ever seen the movie West Side Story, then you probably know the song “Maria.” Lin-Manuel took this song and tried to incorporate some of its elements into his song. The reason why he chose this song was because Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane maria, and the song’s title is “Maria.”

“Almost Like Praying” has become a trending sensation because of its powerful message. Puerto Rico suffered a lot of damages, and a song like this can remind everyone of what is happening. Also, the fact that he has all these musicians speaking up can bring a lot of awareness.
