How MoreAliA Capitalized on the Pokemon GO Craze

Pokemon GO has been incredibly successful since it was released a little over a month ago. It’s also opened up an opportunity for several YouTubers to grow their channels with a heavy dose of Pokemon GO content.

MoreAliA has emerged as one of the YouTubers at the forefront of the platform’s high-quality Pokemon GO content. He’s earned over a million subscribers since he started posting almost exclusively about the game.

Most YouTubers understand the value of posting about trending topics, but few have pursued a trend as aggressively as MoreAliA.

It’s worked for him. Here’s why.

1. He capitalized quickly.

Prior to posting his first Pokemon GO video on July 6, MoreAliA had posted 31 previous videos without hitting a million views on any one of them.

Then he posted his first video about the game, and it blew up. So far, it’s amassed almost eight million views, and his 33 subsequent Pokemon GO videos have averaged almost three million views each.

MoreAliA had posted videos about Pokemon before, but the advent of Pokemon GO allowed him to propel his channel forward hugely. He jumped on board quickly, posting his first Pokemon GO video on the day the game was released in the U.S.

2. He posts valuable videos.

Anyone can make videos about a popular trend, but you can’t expect that alone to lead you to success.

In fact, there are tons of YouTubers posting videos about Pokemon GO, but MoreAliA has done a great job of standing out by providing subscribers with excellently researched collections of tips and facts about the game.

He not only is vlogging about his experience playing the game, but he’s also helping his audience enjoy the game themselves. This video about where to catch rare Pokemon is a good example of the value he provides to his viewers.

3. He posts daily.

The appetite for Pokemon GO content is virtually insatiable, and MoreAliA has kept his momentum going by delivering five new videos a week, each coming about 10 to 20 minutes long. This is important because it creates a strong reason for people to subscribe to his channel. He constantly has new videos for them, so subscribers receive something satisfying each day.

It also means that even though he has only been posting about Pokemon GO for about a month, he already has a huge trove of content for new viewers to explore if they enjoy one of his videos.

This video is a good example of how MoreAliA produced an interesting video even on a day where he didn’t have any notable new tips or insights to share with his viewers. It has over 3 million views and nearly 100,000 likes.

4. He writes effective video titles.

MoreAliA has a strong understanding of how to write strong video titles for the purposes of both increasing SEO and grabbing people’s attention.

It’s always important to shove your enticing keywords up near the front of your video titles, and MoreAliA has shown a keen awareness of this strategy. Almost all of his Pokemon GO videos starts with those words, helping his videos show up in search results and then capture the attention of people seeking content about the game.

He also uses all caps afterwards to convey a sense of excitement in each video. This is a simple trick that many YouTubers employ to grab more viewers. Check out this title. It could have easily been very boring, but the caps and the exclamation point make it seem quite enticing.

It may be too late to hop on board the Pokemon GO content train, but you can emulate MoreAliA’s keys to success to help build your own channel.
