When you’ve generated a sizable fan base, your methods of engagement have to be top notch. This goes beyond replying to comments on Facebook. Here’s why filming a Q&A – Question and Answer – session is beneficial for your band.
It’s Great For Promotion: If you’re about to go on tour or have an album coming out, a Q&A is a great way to build up hype. Some questions could pertain to your project, while others can be about something random – like your favorite ice cream. If the situation allows, cleverly weave something about your album in the answer.
It Brings You Closer To Fans: Probably the most important reason a band should do a Q&A is to build a connection with fans. Fans want to know more about their favorite artists. They want to know your pet peeves, celebrity crushes, dreams & aspirations. A Q&A allows fans to see a more personal side of you.
It’s Super Easy: Conducting a Q&A is free, simple, and takes as much time out of your schedule as you want. As long as you have an Internet connection, you’re good to go. The biggest websites have Q&A functions already in place including Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit. Try filming a Q&A and uploading it to YouTube if you want to go beyond a text-based questionnaire.
Don’t just look good in pictures. Show some personality by doing a Q&A!
