How To Set Up A Custom URL For Your YouTube Channel

By default, YouTube gives you a very long and meaningless channel URL. You need to acquire a custom URL to establish a consistent branding for your channel.

Earlier YouTube required creators to have at least 500 subscribers to get a custom URL. Now the numbers have dropped to 100.

4. Check the box beside I agree to the Terms of Service. Then click Change URL.

5. Be sure of the URL you want and then click Confirm choice. You cannot request to change your URL once it is approved. The URL you choose will be linked to both your YouTube channel and Google+ account.

Note that only channels that meet the eligibility requirements will be able to claim a custom URL. Below are the eligibility requirements you need to meet:

  • Your account must be in good standing.
  • You need to have at least 100 subscribers.
  • Your channel needs to be at least 30 days old.
  • You need to have uploaded a photo as your channel icon.
  • You need to have uploaded the channel art.
