Unlike most artists, Owen Shaw doesn’t limit himself to one particular kind of music. Anything that he feels, Shaw is able to put into lyrics. Here are three things that make Owen Shaw stand out.
1. He created an original Christmas carol.
Not too many artists have created Christmas carols of their own since the days of record players. Owen Shaw, however, released “Children’s Christmas Tree Toy Song” in November of 2012. Reminiscent of “The Night Before Christmas,” Shaw’s original carol is perfect for children in any generation.
2. His music comes with a message.
Following in the footsteps of gospel legends such as Thomas A. Dorsey and Mahalia Jackson, Owen Shaw isn’t afraid to express his faith through his music. “Hope Beside Still Waters” was inspired by the Biblical account of Jesus walking on water.
3. He pays homage to his homeland.
In honor of his beloved Jamacia, Owen Shaw released the reggae track “Jamacia Calling: All The Things I Miss” in October 2014. The accompanying video even includes gorgeous footage of the island itself.
Owen Shaw stands out as an artist because he isn’t afraid to mix things up. By staying true to who he is rather than staying true to a single genre, Shaw is well on his way to making a name for himself in the music industry.
