Do you sometimes feel like you see different faces on Youtube delivering the same message? So many content creators present a lifestyle or philosophical insight in ways that isn’t compelling to the average person.
How do you stand alone from a growing number of vloggers looking for Internet glory?
1. Evoke emotion.
Whether it is positive or negative, getting an emotional response from viewers compels them to watch more. Emotional videos are more likely to make a connection with a universal audience.
Take Sia’s music video for “The Greatest.” Dance phenom Maddie Ziegler moves her body in an emotional tribute to the victims of the tragedy in Orlando earlier this year.
2. Be topical.
Between URLs and IRL, there are new discussions popping up every day. Listen to them. What current events evoke passion in viewers?
The first presidential debate has nearly ten million views in two days because people are curious about the fate of their country. If a vlogger is less interested in politics, he or she can turn to another recent event that sparks curiosity.
3. Be funny.
Humor isn’t going out of style anytime soon. Vloggers are making hilarious videos that make viewers cry from laughter.
If you are an aspiring comedian, test your standup routine on the Internet before deciding to hit the road. Make people laugh, and your subscribers will multiply before your eyes.
It is easy to get lost in the endless scroll of droll Youtube videos, but that doesn’t mean it has to be that way. Add a touch of humor, emotion, and engagement. Take the steps to standing out in the vloggosphere.
