How Logic’s Studio Album “Everybody” Became #1 On The US Billboard 200

On May 5th, 2017, rap artist Logic dropped his third studio album Everybody, which features artists like Ansel Elgort, Alessia Cara, Khalid, Juicy J, and more. The album became a popular hit as soon as it went live. It broke the record for the largest second-week drop of all time.

All the hard work put in to make this album has brought great success for Logic, so how did he do it?

1. The album has a deeper meaning behind it.

Everybody was Logic’s first number one album on the charts, which is probably because the album goes beyond just rapping about random things. Fans like to connect with music because they’re able to express how they feel through the lyrics. Artist Kendrick Lamar is also known for releasing albums with deeper connections, such as Untitled Unmastered and To Pimp A Butterfly.

Logic explains the concept of the album into greater detail.

2. Each song has a different message.

One of the most popular songs on the album is “1-800-273-8255,” which is actually the number for the National Suicide Prevention Line. Logic brings awareness in this album by talking about things that a lot of musicians wouldn’t do in mainstream media.

His album covers topics about anxiety, suicide, and racism. It dives into issues that are happening in his country.

3. The album artwork is impactful.

In Logic’s past album covers, his creativity and use of characters have made awesome artwork, which is not surprising to see in this third album as well.

Album covers can make a great impact on who decides to listen to your songs because if the person is drawn into the cover, he or she is probably going to be curious and take a listen to see what it’s all about.

Logic’s album has brought awareness on big issues that a lot of people try to not to talk about because they are controversial. He is trying to bring discussion into a world where people often try to hide the fact that these are real problems that real people deal with every day. It’s a huge risk to do this. Like he said in his MTV VMA performance people don’t like to hear the truth. With such a strong and powerful message, Everybody has definitely earned its rightful place as number one on the charts.
